Put a trouble light in the bottom of your top loading washer and a hunk of plexiglass over the top, Nice light box. or use a square or oblong crate with a light under it and plexiglass over the top. A glass cake pan will work too.Look around the house and you will find something that will work.

I bought an old lightbox to watch slides on in a thriftshop, replaced the top with a piece of plexiglass.
But when the pattern is not to big ( and usually they aren't)
I copie it with saralpaper onto the quiltfabric.......
