    Jenn, that's a pre-1900 "Fiddle-base" Singer VS2 in a "Coffin top" cabinet. Decent price.

ok is it just me or are the pictures of this leading me to believe that someone mounted a 1950s cabinet top to a treadle cabinet? Something strikes me as odd with how that machine is sitting in the cabinet.
cab looks normal to me...refinished, but fine...

this last one in texas, some one replaced the top, the hinges have been move a good inch to the outside , it's missing the center brace, of course the wrong head ,, can't see if the flywheel guard is there ...

I Think with those drawers that one also had the crosshatch design on the 7th drawer

http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/atq/3084945048.html You're talking about this one John? I disagree. That's a straight leg treadle, and it looks normal to me.

The top looks off center to me in the photos, thus why I thought it might be a modern cabinet top in place of the original, especially since the machine in it is more modern than the cabinet seems to be.

Nope...that treadle cabinet is from the 50's I believe. I could be wrong about the top, but I don't think so.

Something bothered me about that cabinet top too...the legs look ok, but the top seems weird. It may be the drawers aren't plain like I've seen on other straight legs, or that it kind of looks like one of those "new" or "repro" 15 treadle cabinet tops.

The fiddle bed is a Singer, it just looks like it's been repainted at some time.

I've been watching some local CL ads from a collector hereabouts...interesting to see if they get any bites. But this one left me a little speechless. Um...where do I sign up? Heck, I'll even throw in a good cleaning and a treadle cabinet!! http://wichitafalls.craigslist.org/atq/3086301463.html

wow someone's mighty proud of that red eye!

since you're checking out the local ads....I'm curious which machines they have. 2 for 50.00each? http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/grq/3072113564.html "Antique Sewing Machine, in cabinet, one Dated 1886 - Only $50.00 each. *(2 available)"

Ha, ha...sounds like they want to get someone to their sale or something. Could be a treasure or a dud. I hate it when ads put something like "old sewing machine" with no pic, name, description, etc. They are in the same frustrating league as those who show a closed cabinet and never open it up with the machine showing--another common theme around here.
