That's more like it. He would have been toast around here.

I know its frustrating, I have 6 kids and 11 grandkids, something is always happening to something at my house. Instead of getting mad, upset, or frustrated I just started making whatever it was that happened part of the journal entry for that quilt. My kids and I get the journal out sometimes and just look for the stories.

Well, my darling nephew who is old enough to know better decides to play a joke on me, and changes my stitch length and my stitch type settings on my machine. I come back and start sewing, only to get a button hole stitch! I spotted it pretty sharpish, but it's made a bit of a mess.

I'm really upset, I've worked so hard on piecing and the quilting because I'm new and I didn't want to make a mistake and now it's like it's been ruined.

    Looks like i'm in for an evening of frog-stitching (rip-it rip-it) :-(

Sorry to vent, but I needed to!
I'm sure this won't minimize your upset but years ago my sweet Aunt Norma was hand quilting a beautiful appliqued top called Dogwoods, she had it all stretched on her frames in her dining room, left to check on something in the kitchen and when she came back, her young grandson was in the middle of it using it for a trampoline. She was upset at the time but tells the story now with a very sweet tone in her voice. So now it's just a fond memory.

I always had a rule for my 3 boys. Mom's quilting machine, scissors etc were off limits to them unless you want to be in BIG TROUBLE!!! It worked.
