It's really pretty and it doesn't need a border if you don't want one. I personally have a hard time keeping the edges straight without a border-just be extra care to have a precise 1/4 seam when you put your binding on. It'll be beautiful-can't wait to see it completed.

Years ago when my MIL was making quilts she never put a border or binding. The blocks would go right up to the edge and the backing would fold to the front for the binding. Yours looks good just the way it is.

borders can make or break a top, most times borders are put on to make a top larger {in my opinion, & they also can detract from the top, too}
yes, i've made most of mine without borders--
isn't it great that there are so many choices?
good luck with your scrap shopping--you can do it!

That is beautiful I was in our LQS and saw a quilt just like that and wanted to make one. The book was called Strip therapy 5 by Brenda Hennings they wanted $20.00 for it and it only had that one quilt that I liked in it.I didn't buy it. But this quilt is the same looking quilt as the one in Strip therapy 5 she called it exquiste quilt. I figured out how to do it without the book I made one block so I'd remember how to do it when I ready to do it......I love scrappy quilts.

Your quilt is beautiful, I love it. I went to thrift shops, yard sales, etc to get fabric scraps. Once I went to a quilt store that has an annual yard sale and bought 3 black trash bags for $1 each that was filled to the brim with scraps. They had started at $5 each and no-one would buy them and it was late, so they reduced the price. Now that you know what you want, you can start looking for it. I also bought off eBay: 3" and 4" charm packs of fabric, no 2 alike.

Great scrappy quilt. Sandwich, quilt it and bind it with something bright it's great!
