so very pretty, looks 3 dimensional, like the "windows" look like flower petals! It is a beautiful pattern and unique! It is a beautiful keepsake, did your mother-in-law use a pattern or was she just creative?

I agree that they look like flower petals. They make me think of Magnolia blooms. Anyway you look at it, it's beautiful.

I first saw this pattern when I was a young 4H girl, at the fair. I was fascinated by it and do now have the pattern. I probably didn't make it because the patter said to use muslin and of course, it was labor intensive for a young thing to make at that time. You have given me an interest in it. I believe my pattern was one of those you sent for out of a magazine ad. Either that or Aunt Martha's patterns. Your quilt is superb and thank you for finishing it and showing it to us. Well done. This should be publlished in a quilt magazine for all to see.

I know why I like your version of this quilt so much...It's the binding!!! I have seen others with uneven edges and the binding makes all the difference!
