The first rack is the best one to prevent fading. Love it. The hinges would make them operate nicely as closet doors.

To me it looks like the frame itself is attached to the back of a door. To the right of the rack, looks like the inside of a closet and if you shut the door, the thread rack would be inside the closet out of site.
