Haven't gotten to the quilt shops yet. We're still playing catch up.

Joe, when you go fabric shopping, check out Zincks in Ligonier. Worth the drive! Elaine will love it!

But I did recently learn the trick to NOT press the binding in half, and that helped to reduce the tendency for it to want to crawl out from under the foot when topstitching it down. Also, use the first seam to line up the fabric on teh front side, just a fraction of an inch past so you end up sewing almost on top of it with the second seam, so it ends up "int the ditch" as much as possible on the back side.
Thank you! I'll give the no center seam approach a try the next time. I'll probably still hand stitch the other side though. Too easy for me to go wrong there.

Great quilt Joe! I commented in the other thread too. I am guilty of just blowing by the stickies a lot.

Cathy,

Was the binding cut on a bias or straight. We have fits with the factory made bias cut stuff.

Rodney,
That's why I rarely post anywhere but here. The majority of comments came here so next time I'll just post it here and save the effort.

Love the quilt. My favorite kind. Kitty seems to enjoy it too.

The kitties are trying to claim it. If we don't close them out of the bedroom at night we usually have 3 to 4 sleeping with us.

I'd let them. It's getting to be Winter and they're warm.

What kind of machine --and what foot did you use to sew down the binding ? I want to get a good system for my charity quilts as I need to change my old method .

Morningstar,

Cathy (Macybaby) did the quilting and binding for me, maybe she'll post a pic of the foot she used.
