I live close to Bangor and go there all the time. The Cotton Cupboard is very good. Also Jo-Ann's and Hobby Lobby. My very favorite place is Marden's in Brewer. It is a discount store but the fabric is the same brands that are carried in other shops. I hope you have a great visit here.

The Cotton Cupboard is in Bangor. If you're driving up to Bangor, stop in every Marden's on the way and stock up on great fabric at reasonable prices.
There is also a quilt shop in Brewer which is right across the river from Bangor. If you put in a search for quilt shops in Maine you can spend days trying to take in each one. We're heading up that way Thursday for a mini-vacation in Bar Harbor.

Marden's is a must for every quilter. their fabric selection is amazing and cheap. i always look for lori holt's fabric there. that store has all kinds of things for the whole family. it's quite an experience. be sure to check yelp dot com. type in bangor, me and look for restaurants, rv parks, etc. it is a good reference with honest reviews. beautiful area. enjoy your trip.
