What a gorgeous quilt. I'm sure it will be much appreciated. It reminds me of the old letters my mom had from WWII that were sent from overseas. I can't remember what she called them

Nice job, toogie! It will be a treasure to a vet. I agree with the others who said it looks like an airmail envelope. I loves those.

You got it right, the air mail. I suppose many soilders received them and glad to get them too.

Although the barber poles were like this I was thinking more of the Air Mail theme as many received letters this way.
