they look boring to me, simply because I like much more complicated intricate quilts. Depending on her direction writing skills they would probably be a great jumping off place for someone who wanted to step outside their comfort zone.

I agree, KalamaQuilts. Also, since becoming a Bonnie Hunter fan many years ago, and preferring a scrappy look (even if they are cut from yardage rather than true scaps), a quilt with that few fabrics in it would stifle me.
