An "Avatar" is the picture you put out on the web to identify yourself. Most of us hae either a quilt, kids or grandkids of our "other babies" - our pets for avatars. A few will put a photo of themselves. I don't take goos pictures at all, so I thought the world would rather look at a quilt than ugly ol' me.

It's just a personal preference. My Avatar quilt is one that I made for DH's office before they laid him off 2 years ago. I am having issues with making him another quilt for his new office! He just got a job as Director of Education at the prison where I work as the Inmate Quilting Program Supervisor. I'm not superstitious - but...

This is a One Block Wonder Quilt. The original fabric was black with very large flowers called Birds of Paradise.

After laying out the blocks I gravated from a green to a yellow/red to a brown. Made me think of the leaves on a tree in Autumn.

The quilt was named "Flames of Autumn".

his was my very first quilt of this size and detail. Mistakes were nade but I am very happy with it. (So, is my daughter as it was her Christmas present.)

I need to ask a question... What do you mean when you say an Avatar quilt? I know there was a movie with that name but how does it relate to these quilts of such variety?

I am clueless(I did not see the movie) Is the movie a clue here?

My little picture under my name is my avatar. I chose a quilt as mine. Some have their dogs, some their grandchildren.

I think I get it now.. the Avatar refers to the picture you use as your ID on this board...am I right?
