My new design wall
#22
I like that grid so much I'm tempted to draw one on the flannel tablecloth that serves as my design wall. "Tempted" does not mean it will be done tomorrow. lol Really, love your wall and I'd like to see some of the other things he's engineered for you.

My sewing room has slanted wall like in an attic so no place for a design wall. Instead I take advantage of the ceiling tile to pin the quilt to them and that way it hangs straight and I can step back for a look. Have absolutely no space for a permanent design wall. Will have to get some flannel to hang so I don't have to pin blocks together before hanging them.

That looks great. I will check out the foam insulation at Home Depot. I purchased the Fons & Porter design wall but was trying to decide where to put it. I don't have that much wall space, but was thinking of placing in front of my closet double doors when I need to use it. With the insulation, I'm thinking I could duct tape a couple of pieces together so it could be folder and stored under the bed when not in use. Thanks for showing it. Your husband did a good job.

This is great, in what kind of material your hubby made the board, my hubby started to paint my new hobbyroom so I'm still looking for ideas and this is great. I tought to cover a part of the wall with cork and use that as disign wall, what do you think would it work?

He used 1/2" foam insulation board from Home Depot. I noticeyou are in Belgium, so I don't know what stores you would have. You should be able to get it at a store that sells construction materials. Cork would probably work, but it would be much heavier and probably more expensive. He used 2 pieces of 4' X 8' foam board at about $13 each. Good luck and feel free to pm me if you have any questions.
