No colon is a serious health issue, however I have a daughter with the same problem and with careful management of her diet she works as an RN, and has an embroidery/quilting business as well as being a wife and mother. She leads a full life and I suspect Mary Fons can do the same.

If Mary Fons hadn't agreed to do the show, her mom, Marianne was't going to do the show at all after Liz Porter left. Liz retired to spend time with her grandchildren and to focus on her knitting patterns. Fons and Porter has a knitting magazine too. Mary Fons is a hit with the younger quilters. She has a quilt magazine, Quilty, which is written for the new quilter.

I don't know if it is true; but I was told that Liz Porter now lives in Austin, Texas. I am, also a knitter and get the magazine Love of Knitting and see her patterns there.

She does live in Austin,TX. Last year she was our speaker at quilt guild and gave her speakers fee to The Thank You Quilters; who make soldier quilts for returning Soldiers at Ft. Hood Army base in Killeen,TX.

I hope the original poster amends her thread title to answer "No". Can we do that?

Gosh that is interesting. I have read someplace I can't remember that Liz was wanting to retire for a long time. Mary Fons didn't even start quilting until sort of recently, so she says. I have no reason to doubt her.
