    Your bowl is beautiful.
I have a beautiful set of coasters done in this way that was included in a swap from a board friend.

Hi OhCanada- Thank you! The metal pieces you see are actually decorative metal beads. No purpose to them other than to be decorative

Mountain-moma: Thank you! I followed the directions in a book called It's A Wrap by Susan Breier. The simplest explanation of how they are made: 3/4 inch strips of cut fabric, then wrapped and glued in 5" increments around cotton clothes-line. This is the most time consuming part. Then begin by coiling the wrapped line and zig-zag stitch it in a circular motion. There are a few more fine detailed steps involved in order to get the sides developed that the book does a great job in explaining.

Your bowl is beautiful. My husband and I donate our crafts to sell for a missionary in Uganda. We love participating our skills to raise money for them.

You don't have to wrap the line, they are very pretty tied dyed or stenciled too. I would certainly bid on the bowl. Be sure and post about the auction when it's over.
