    Yes, I am handquilting it. She hand pieced the oval parts and sewed the squares on a machine. Yes, it is kind of scary quilting it, but that is the only way to preserve it. It really needs to be laundered and I didn't dare do that without first stabilizing it with quilting. I have already been thinking about the label. I will take all of your suggestions and incorporate them into the label.

    Beautiful quilt! What a treasure. I suggest that you make sure to include the story on the label so that your grandchildren will know what a special quilt is passed down to them. Beautiful legacy for your family.
