I have made a few machine covers and I just made it like a tote bag turned upside down. On the right I leave the seam open a few inches so it covers my cord when I leave it plugged in.

I love your cover. I have quilted covers on my sergers and backup machine, but need to make covers for my Juki and MC14000. Sharing your pretty cover has inspired me to get to work!
