I've heard that there is a bridge over the Mississippi River in one of the central states where an estimated 3 million bats sleep during the day and at nightfall come out and eat millions and millions of bugs all night. It's a tourist attraction to see the bats leave the bridge span. Sorry, I can't remember where this is but want to say Kansas City...I could be wrong. The little guys do lots of good but like many people has stated, I'm afraid of them, too. My uncle tells stories about being dive bombed by bats when he got home from the swing shift in the mines in Minnesota years ago. He carried an umbrella to use going from his car to the house at midnight.

He is just chilling out in my window still. He will be around until about late August early September, then he will fly away not to come back until next mid April.

Oh! MY GOSH! HOW LONG IS THAT THING? We have bats in California but unless my eyes are not telling me the truth... that one is the size of a large cat? The ones here that I've seen are like flying mice. Hebbie Gibbies Goosie Bumps all over! Burrrrr~ ~ ~~

Its not that big. It fits in the palm of my hand and with wigs spread it covers my hand. ( No I have not actually held it. I just placed my hand up against the window to measure it).
