    Here is Amadeus.
He has taken up residence in my bedroom window again this year. This is his second year here. So that is why I named him today.

Very cool Henry... now we can officially say you have bats in your belfry... just don't get bit... rabies shots are very rough to deal with...

Thats not a bat its Henry in his other form. Are you a vampire bat or fruitbat? The bats I have in my garage are little bug eaters. Fun to watch these critters. :D :?

    Henry how cool is that!!

Its a fruit bat isn't it - wow I wish I had one roosting in my window, how fascinating, do you feed him???

We have bats here in Spain but only about the size of your hand!!

Can you try and get a clearer picture, I know this will be difficult due to the light being behind it, but I would appreciate if you could try!!

Thanks for sharing - I love all wildlife!!! :D

the window screen is just a bit pushed in on one side so he was able to squeeze thru.

I think he eats bugs. He flys around my porch at night eating the bugs that are attracted to my porch light.

I'll try to get another picture of him. Maybe since it is getting cloudy I can get a better picture.

    Henry,
Love the name you picked for your bat. I love to watch the little critters. Many people don't realize how very beneficial they are to us.
    :D :D :D

I'd rather have him there than in my attic with a bunch of little friends. LOL:)

thanks Minda. I think that there are a lot of bats around the river here(which is behind my house) and they eat all the mosquitoes around here cause we haven't had problems with mosquitoes since I have been living in this house.

Amadeus is cute. As long as bats are not dive-bombing me or my loved ones, I like them!

oh bats scare the crap outta me. I had a good friend that was killed because of a bat bite. It gave her rabies and they didn't know what was wrong with her until it was too late. It was the summer before we started 6th grade so that's going back a lot of years. I still remember a woman from a health department coming to my house after Kelly died trying to figure out what animal she contracted it from. They had a farm and needed to figure out where the source was. I've been insanely scared of bats ever since. :(

in the summer time here in TEXAS we tend to get quitea bit of bats they especially like to live under the freeways , and at the parks.quite a few people have died from bat bites. which is why the city starts to cage up under the freeways and under the ports at the park .it's really scarey some times.but what can you do.were just careful.were all so told to report any bat activity to the police or the city.

Nice to observe, from a good.....................distance. I'm just not the brave sort when it comes to bats, snakes and such. I'm totally female, I don't like mice either. Sorry but I'm a big sissy.........
