I organized my "project sorting" plastic shoeboxes last week. I have pretty close to 30. About 3 empties ready for small bins projects to grow into.

I start with the smallest bins Dollar tree has, about 3-1/2 x 4-1/2, then 4x6, the third size holds two of the smallest in it side by side, so it's about 7 x 4-1/2. It will hold 3-1/2 x 6-1/3 bricks. When the quilt being cut out outgrows that bin, it goes into a shoe box. When I start making blocks, if they are larger than 6-1/2", they graduate to a flat bin or lidded bin.

I do the 15 min timer on organizing something that feels overwhelming or is hindering progress. For example, when the cutting table can't be used for cutting because of all the stuff on it. Or my ironing table has just 5 square useable clear inches available. Or I can't find any of my seam rippers. Keeps me on track.

I also use the timer to reward myself !

I went to Michael's to pick up a planner, stickers, washi tape, clearance Christmas items and a few storage bins. I use the wider ones which are meant for scrapbook paper for sewing notions and other things that I don't need on hand.

I love having a tape measure taped to the edge of my cutting table, never lost or misplaced. I've also put a small one on the front of my sewing machine. Very. useful
