Pop Ups and Ads issues
#41
I would be interested to see other members' replies as I'm not seeing increased junk emails. I did; however, find increased junk emails and USPS junk mail after buying a subscription to a major quilting magazine. I will not be renewing my subscription because of it.

Personally, I have not seen any increase in junk emails. Please note, however, that you have the option of advising Internet Brands to remove your personal information from their records. The link is in the Privacy Policy found at the bottom of this page.

OK. Here is the fix:
Settings Tab
My Settings
Profile Privacy
Choose Registered Members for all except Albums - unless you don't want lurkers looking at your pretty quilts!
Hope this helps!
This won't fix talking ads - only spam emails.
Ad Block Plus will stop the ads.

Re. Offensive Advertisements
Has anyone seen the ad on the bottom left of the screen "Target Counter" it's of a hidden person holding a rifle aiming at soldiers running from one building to another. The rifle doesn't fire . Is this appropiate advertising for a quilting site. I really don't care what or if there's a hidden message. It doesn't belong on this site! There's enough of that going on in this world and we don't need it here! Anne

Getting rid of the AD's
I think they need to get rid of the Ad's when you first click on a subject. They cover the whole screen and you have to scroll down before you see any Threads. I don't mind them on the side or bottom, but when I click on a subject I WANT TO SEE THE SUBJECT. oK, i've vented.

I haven't had that happen and I've been on the site a lot the past couple of days. Are you sure it isn't pop-ups that are separate from this site? A lot of computer trojans you get from emails install programs on your computer that puts pop-up ads on your pages.
