A very talented friend of mine in Indiana made a chicken scratch quilt and it was absolutely beautiful. GORGEOUS.

I would like to thank you for your help in posting pic's. That is simply Georgous ! I have been thinking that I would like to make a 8 pointed star quilt and you just confirmed that thought . I have never made one and I hope I can do it as good as you did. Is the template a diamond for the star?

Did you use the Plaid for backing or the white ?

I already had a picture. found it yesterday while cleaning out old newpaper photos from my writing days. This is called chicken scratch for those who have never seen it. Hope you enjoy my quilt. I plan on digging it out and getting it quilted so I can enjoy it. I had forgotten how pretty it was.
Not only is it quilted it has snowflaking on it! Thanks for posting.

Joannes does not stock cotton gingham. I sometimes do chicken scratch and I love to do it, but had to go online to find cotton gingham. It is hard to find

I have never heard of this, nor seen it, but I've always loved gingham. I love the technique. It is really quite beautiful--both the quilt top and the pillow. I love learning new things here--happens just about every day.
