Has anyone made a quilt of just ten inch square pieces?

My guild was asked to put together 40" X 40" quilts as Christmas gifts for one of the veterans' groups near us. I think we had about 6 weeks to get 120 done as I recall. I had 3 identical layer cakes, cut a few coordinating 10" solid squares, and put those into tops right quick and in a hurry. Turned out nice and I think I got 8 tops together in one day's work which is good for me.

Before there were precuts, I made a duvet with 10x10 squares for my first grandson -- it was a variety of novelty fabrics. He reluctantly gave it to his younger brother after 6 years of use and it is still going strong (it's 12 years old now). L made a diagonal pattern based on the intensity of the color of the fabrics and it looked great.
