Witchy Sue

Someone asked why it made so much money? IMHO.... It's a witch. And even those who don't like witches softened when they saw this one. (Myself included).
Halloween in terms of retail, is bigger than Christmas. Sad but true. No one involved in making this quilt made a dime. All proceeds went to the Quilt Guild. We donated it, and they sold raffle tickets. I think they could have sold more tickets, if they had advertised a little. It was only shown 4 times, at 2 guild meetings and 2 days at the quilt guild show. The show had a relatively small turnout. Guild members purchased the bulk of the raffle tickets. I didn't buy or sell any tickets. I don't know what I'd do with a witch quilt. It's too cute to use. I would never give it to a child and I wouldn't hang it on my walls. I'm just not a witch fan.

Each witchy sue block was hand appliqued by a different lady in our group. I assembled it and added the border from www.p3designs.com Judy hand quilted it and I bound it and made a label. We all got attached to this quilt, even though most of us do not like witches.
