I worked for an Orthopedic doctor for 23 1/2 years and I know that the splint you have will work. You may not have to wear them all day, but then again it depends on what you are doing. Be sure to wear them at night that helps more than you can imagine. Good luck.

Yes, you move your hands way more than you think you do at night. I wore one for about 6 months or so and it really made a difference.

After our first child the doctor ordered them because the pain in my wrists was aweful. When I went to pick our infant son in the night wearing them he would scream. I got rid of them and the pain eventually went away on it's own unlike carpel tunel

Yes, yes, yes! I can type till the cows come home without it bothering my hands but writing, pruning & using the mouse is what hurts. I wear a brace on my right hand every night and it helps a lot.

Me too. And they fasten closed with large heavy-duty Velcro strips, so the noise of that Velcro ripping apart would wake me up.

Another wearer here. Since I also was dealing with major bone spurs in my thumb joints, the doc gave me splints that also braced the thumb joint. A year and 1/2 ago, I had surgery on my right hand to remover the bone spurs, and correct the carpel tunnel. The doc said I wouldn't need to wear the splint on that hand anymore, but I still do because after wearing them for so many years, I sleep better with them on now!!! I did go to the smaller splints from Walmart for my right hand. The only time I wear them during the day now is for long distance driving.

At some point, I will have the surgery done on my left hand...more for the bone spurs than the carpel tunnel. I have such a wonderful surgeon...he did the two surgeries at the same time which saved me the extra cost of a second anesthesiologist bill.

yes the braces do help. at least wear at night to help relieve pressure for those hours. you will feel the difference. you'd be surprised at the positions we put our wrists in while we sleep.
