you can touch a iron really light to the binding to so it stays back...I use w/n so the batting can be iron...But if using poly, just give the binding a light touch or shot of steam, this way I don't need to fuss with pins, etc.

That's a great tip. Actually with this method I never have to use pins or clips. An iron would be helpful for the corners if you happen to be by one at the time. I'm usually sitting on the couch and watching a movie and can't be bothered to get up!

I iron it right as I get done sewing it on and it stays pretty good, corners and all

Thanks for these instructions. I tried this stitch and I really like it! My bindings never look very good. The ladder stitch gave me the best results I've had yet.

I glue baste my binding down and I just used this method after I remembered it, about halfway into my second table runner and oh boy did it make it go faster! Love it! Thank you!
