Nanci, I bet your DGD would have worn her "gramma-made" dress if she had her way! Kids seem to know --at least until middle school--the difference between a dress made because someone loves them and one just like the ten others in the store. Adults seem to value the wrong things so often.

thanks, ladies! i did get a picture of her in it, or rather my dh did. i wish he'd taken one of her standing as the hem has a handkercheif line to it done in dark pink, and we took the waist bow off as it was too heavy and in the way. but the dgd seemed to like the dress quite well.
she had a lot of fun with 4 of her grandparents there. on sunday all 6 g'parents were at the party. she is now 1 yr old!! yay!!

Needlegrammy and JustAQuilter, it’s great you got to make the exchange this week. Wonderful DQs. Wow, the points on that Mariner’s Compass are awesome.

Snownannie, love your little owl DQ. So cute!

My sentiments exactly! I have found that snide comments like that come from "the green monster" She probably can't sew on a button let alone make an adorable dress like that. Ha Ha
My mom made most of my clothes and I still have very fond memories of one particular summer dress that we shared. Same pattern (different sizes-LOL) but Pockets and Yoke on hers matched the Body of mine and vice versa!
