roselirish I am so sorry for what you have been through. I don't know if I missed this or not. That is very difficult. Yes, it is a blessing that you had them for as long as you did. So glad for that dear lady.

Hugs,
Susan

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you in the US from Europe! And I just wanted to say: My ornament parcel arrived today! Now I only have to be patient for another 10 days to open it... Really hope that the one I sent out will make it over the Atlantic ocean on time, too!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I am so thankful that our founding fathers sacrificed and put together a great nation. Enjoy your families and enjoy this land we live in. God bless America! Land that we love.

I thought I was done with turkey dinner. Had a party for 40 as a Friendsgiving 10 days ago. Older daughter and aunt
moaned & groaned, so there is another turkey sitting in the refrigerator today. I refused to do one more bit of grocery shopping. I did not have any brown sugar for the mustard/paprika/etc recipe. I do have date molasses . Looks great and tastes good. Stay tuned! Hope you all enjoy . We have so much to be thankful for.

Thanks for letting me know you received your package dotty. I appreciate it so much. Enjoy your turkey. Sounds so different than what I make.

I made my stuffing, sweet potatoes, green beans and pumpkin pie today. Made the grape dish of my mom's yesterday, the cranberry cherry sauce and set the table, cleaned the house and mailed off to one of the girls to replace the missing in action gal.

I just checked girls, there are four to be received now and two are in Australia. We are getting closer!

I'm waiting for my fruits-of-the-forest pie to come out of the oven (5 more minutes, give or take) & it's smells wonderfully! Stuffing is all done, too. Tomorrow morning I will have to run around like a nut to get everything off the table & put away! (Stuff like fabric ...)

Everybody, have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Red, you accomplished a lot today. I do hope tomorrow is extremely enjoyable for you.

After dinner, I am making my pumpkin pie in my new pie pans. DH has cooked the giblets in preparation for using them tomorrow and is getting our turkey all set tonight to go into the roaster tomorrow morning. It will be the first time we have used our roaster since we purchased it a year ago. Candied yams will be put together tonight and then a nice relaxing evening with DH. I am the odd one in that I enjoy canned green beans instead of everyone's green bean casserole. I don't know why but the canned ones just taste so yummy to me.

Dotty, how did your Friendsgiving turn out? Forty guests is a LOT to prepare for. I hope you had help and lots of laughter.
