Cotton theory--stiff or not stiff seams?

I was just admiring a log cabin quilt posted here http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-111850-1.htm
by Mrs Cotton Theory and it's beautiful!!
I've always heard that the Cotton theory technique makes the seams kind of stiff?
But the photo of the log cabin seems to show it draping very nicely.
So I'm wondering---does Cotton Theory make for stiff seams or not? I have the book #1 but I've never used it because of this rumor.

I think a lot depends on the size of the blocks, the batting used and whether you hand or machine sew the sashings.
Smaller blocks mean more of the sashings are needed
Stiffer batting = less drape
Smaller/shorter machine stitches are not as soft as hand stitching JMHO :D:D:D
