I know when you "quilt" you put the feed dogs down..but when you are going around something, appliqueing, do you keep the feed dogs up or are they down then too??

Feed dogs are up for applique. I asume your making blocks.

Never thought about trying it with the feed dogs down. I want to see what others say. Applique is one skill I definitely have not mastered.

no I'm going around an animal on a block in a quilt...is that what you ment doing a "block" sorry if it was...like doing a satin stitch or zig zag around the animal....
