Default What a great trip to Wally World this morning!

DH and I usually do our grocery shopping at Walmart around 5:30 or 6:00 AM on Saturday mornings before the rest of the world is out and about. I swear I did not plan to even cruise by the fabric area…however… I needed some primer paint for a household project and the paint is RIGHT NEXT TO THE FABRIC! They practically had the aisle blocked with clearance fabrics! I HAD to look (if I had closed my eyes I could have knocked over and entire display)! The batting was 50 cents per yard (I got almost all they had) some fabrics were $1 none were over $2! I came home with about 70 yards of fabric… for $55! I chose mostly ‘blender’ types because my stash is getting low. I got a quilt top kit for $10. It’s not top quality but it ain’t bad either!

Believe me..I would LOVE to get deals like that! I am not a fabric snob, and having a limited income I am grateful for whatever fabric I can afford to get to feed my quilting addiction!! My Walmart is expanding the fabrics..lots of new bolts...I know you need to look carefully at what you are buying, but sometimes the price is just too good!!@!

I received a gift card to Walmart and I'm going tomorrow morning, early like you so I don't have to deal with all the people. We have a nice fabric section but I haven't been to it in quite a few months, so, hopefully they have grown in the fabric section. I keep hearing from everyone on this site that their Walmart is expanding their fabric section and I'm hoping to find out if ours has tomorrow morning. Looks like you got a great deal! Especially on the batting. I like your fabric selection. Couldn't get hardly anything for $55 at a LQS. Have fun with all your new fabric!!!

What a great haul!! I saw those quilt kit top packages at Tuesday Morning. 6 yards of fabric for $7.99 clearance. Good deal, even at $10. Less than $2.00 yd for fabric. Good price for batting. Happy quilting!!
