Default quilt shrinkage- help

I am making a queen size quilt out of moda fabric and using warm and natural batting but am confused about how big it needs to be because I know when washed , it will shrink but how much I don't know. Thought someone here might have a suggestion. Thank you ahead of time for any suggestion.

Shrinkage is limited to 3-5% with Warm and Natural. In my experience, it's closer to 3%.

It probably depends if you pre-wash your fabric or not. My last quilt was made with
mostly jelly rolls and of course I didn't pre-wash. The shrinkage was closer to 5%.
Sounds like anything between 3-5% like it says on the package of W&N.

if you pre-washed your fabric ... you can also pre-wash your batting. By doing both you have eliminated the shrink factor.

Generally speaking though yes .... 3-5% ... closer to 3 in my experience.

saying 3% generally doesn't mean a whole lot to someone---pre-wash your fabrics---shrinkage depends on a number of things- including how densely it is quilted- the backing, (generally) if you have prewashed your fabrics, you quilt an all over design- and wash the quilt in cool water, gently- tumble dry low/medium heat; the shrinkage will be enough to give the quilt that (crumply/antique(y) look....there really wont be much length/width noticable difference...3% would be 3" in 100" ...
i've been quilting for years- have never pre-washed a batting- have never had a quilt shrink so much it made a difference in how it fit the bed it was made for.

I have prewashed fabrics and even the batting before making a top, and it still shrinks some because the quilting can pull in the top a bit. I just simply allow a few extra inches if the piece needs to be a specific size. I don't bother prewashing (except for flannels) anymore.
