Default How do I clean "goop" off my iron

Just recently finished an applique project and have fuseable web on my iron. Any ideas on how to get it off ?

    Thanks,

    Nancy George

Some people like a magic eraser on the cold iron. I have an old GE iron with the metal plate and I can give it a good go over with a dish scrubber. If your iron has a Teflon coating, you don't want to use anything to scratch it.

You can buy a paste. Spread some on an old cloth, hot iron over it and it all comes off on the cloth. I wash it and keep it by my ironing board.

I too use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (or a generic version) on a cold iron. Works like a charm!!!

Run it over a used fabric softener sheet. Works like a charm. My quilting teacher told us about this when we were learning applique. I've used ones that haven't been run through a load of clothes too.

Main reason I don't use spray starch, or any starch. I have enough to clean without having to clean my iron. Getting lazy in my old age.

Dryer sheet and a warm iron takes it all off...I fuse a LOT. No Magic Eraser needed.
