OK, my question is funny; where? "Wherever you like--the table, the kitchen, wherever.." I mean, "How to oil......."lol

That may be one of the 'Never Oil" Vikings. The parts where oil-impregnated, which only lasted about 25-30 years. Then you had to clean all the gunk out and treat them as oil-able machines- and they it was pretty much going by visual inspection - if the parts rubbed then add a drop of oil.

IF the machine is new to you, and is not moving freely - you have a much bigger problem to deal with than adding a bit of oil. Don't try to force anything, the plastic parts that are now stuck together will break.

I have a HV 5710 that I oiled everywhere metal touched metal. It was running before and running better afterwards.
I found out later it was a never oil. Whatev, just oil it like any metal machine.

Not sure myself - I have a 6020. Try the Yahoo group "vikingsewingmachinespre1980" Bill Holman runs that group and knows everything about them.

I belong to that Yahoo group - they really do have tons of info on there, and I'd strongly suggest joining and reading and finding out before messing with a stuck Viking. BTW- my main sewing machine is a 32 year old Viking and I love it.

We learned the hard way in attempting to obtain a working 6570 like my very first sewing machine.
