That's where I'm at. Otherwise I would have posted it AFTER it was loaded in the car.

well, just layer some chalk paint on it and call it refinished? - I am so tired of this "chalk paint" craze

You and me both. How someone could take a piece of maple, mahogany, oak or walnut furniture, cover it with that cr*p and think it's worth 5 times as much $$ is beyond my comprehension. Don't they know how much work it is to get that paint OFF?????

I can see the artwork, a beautiful white lily with a "shabby chic" paint job... Caption "The end is near folks..."

I'm sorry for anyone who disagrees -- it's not my intent to offend, but to paint an antique sewing machine cabinet is an absolute sacrilege. The original wood and the artistry of the person who built the cabinet (albeit in a factory) is totally ruined by application of that crap! It is very hard to remove the paint, not to mention the damage done to the wood in the process! That's a lazy person's method of "refinishing" a cabinet! Just garbage! JMHO!

You're not offending me Jeanette, I totally agree with you. Though I recently got a cabinet for a 99 that's been painted white and I'm leaning towards leaving it that way just because it will be such a pain to strip it down.
