Default New fabric line is 16.50 a yard.

I think the new fabric line Acorn Trail is gorgeous and couldn't wait for it to be available but there is a time to say no I'm not paying that much per yard.

It's organic. Most organic cottons are much more expensive than "regular" cotton. My personal opinion is that organic cotton is a gimmick. I wouldn't pay for it myself.

Are these cottons also processed organically? The chemicals used in the making of the fabric are actually more toxic than those that might be left in the cotton fibers. In other words you can have organically grown cotton but processed conventionally and all the benefits from growing it organically are lost in the processing other than the ecological benefits of not adding more chemicals to our soil and ground water.

Some quilters are puzzling. Buy organic cotton fabric and then use regular cotton thread and wash it in non organic detergent. LOL. I'm not that green, I'll save my green in the bank.

I agree. I am a green person recycling as much as possible but this is a little extreme even for me.

I would have to REALLY love it before paying that much. But everything seems to be getting more expensive and fabric will go up too unfortunately.
