Default Sewing Machine

I am thinking of buying a Janome MC 6300p. Does anyone have one, and if so do you like it? I want one that has a good size opening for quilting, and one that the walking foot will do the job it is suppose to do ( have problems with my currant one). By what I have read it is a sturdy machine...would you recommend it? Or maybe there is another machine that has the same features , I am not totally sure I want that one.just wanting a very reliable one....thank you . Vivian

Visit a dealer and test drive one to see if it is what you want. Take along a practice (sandwich) all basted, ready to quilt so you can see how the walking foot works and judge the throat space

Yes, ckcowl is so right. Remember, buying a DSM is the same process as buying a car. TEST DRIVE !!

I'm not sure what features the 6300 has but I can vouch for the Juki TL 2010Q. It is a sturdy (aluminum) mechanical machine w a large bed (9"?) and includes a walking foot, among others. It is straight stitch, drops feed dogs, knee lift, speed control, auto cutter, etc. and is awesome to sew on. It's also under $1000. I sold my Janome 7700 to purchase one and haven't looked back.

Happy sewing on whatever machine you choose!

I have the Janome 7700 and simply love it. It has the built in walking foot and big harp for bigger quilts. Good luck on your search.
