Default Your Favorite Block

I am looking to try a few new blocks. I would like for you to recommend some that are mostly 12" and not TOO many triangles. Pictures of single blocks or whole quilts is good. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, June. I was actually wanting your favorites. I have seen her site, and she has a lot of wonderful choices.

Anne, I will check my block containers and see what I come up with to perhaps give you couple of different ideas

I like the depression block http://quilterscache.com/D/DepressionBlock.html it works well with many other blocks as an alternate block. I have used it with Road to OK and I saw one with a kaleidoscope.

Ohio Star is my favorite! You can play a lot with placement of the colors /light&dark in the quarter sqare triangles and center block to get a variety of layouts with the same pieces.

I also like churndash .... it gave me a chance to practice the fast and easy half triangle square without demanding that I be precise. If it didn't come out perfectly, I made the block into an altered, wacky churndash. From that I went on to an 8-pointed star. Both gave me lots of triangle practice and remain my goto block in making scrappy quilts.

I love the look of Snail's Trail.

I adore HSTs and 8 point stars are my go-to favorite, so I'm no help!
