Although I haven't tried one, the Dresden Plate block is one I really like. I'm working up the courage to start one. Maybe after Christmas......

I don't have any favorites, either. There are so many designs ( a lot without triangles!). It is so fun to try something different each time. So many great ideas...

I love Anita's Arrowhead. It is easy to make yet looks complicated. It is also very versatile in that you can change the size of the block rather easily by just adjusting it proportionally. I've made everything from coasters to 12" sizes with it. If you goodgle Anita's Arrowhead it is a free download. While you're at it check out other of Anita Grossman Solomon's wonderful blocks and books. She is a genius of making the complicated looking block simple to construct.

My all time favorite block is Drunkard's Path because of it's extreme versitility. You can do an entire sampler using just one simple unit in different arrangements.

From this:

you can get this:

with no triangles at all!
Pepper Cory has a great book on Drunkard's Path quilt designs.

Silly me but I like any block with points or curves! Just like to sew!

I don't know why, I've only made it twice but something sings to me about the simple 9 patch when combined with a snowball. I will probably make more. These I made for 2 elderly (80's) relatives in flannel with wool batting, they love them, as they feel cold a lot.

Have you checked out "Sonja's Windows" you will sew two blocks together, cut to have four! Very quick and easy! Just go to Sonja's Windows on internet and you can find instructions!

One of my favourite blocks is Log Cabin - such a versatile block. I have attached a photo of a small wall hanging I did recently. It is actually very difficult to come up with the most favourite -- there are just so many !! I do like Dresden Plate and Snail's trail as well.
