Default "Cherry Bomb" scrappy D9P for a friend

My friend moved into the area last April. She lives in a very old drafty 5th wheel. She has it fixed up really cute and has decorated with antiques. I knew she used red and would love this 1940's reproduction print so I made her a D9P. The only way I describe this lap quilt is "happy"! It looks so good in her place and brings a bit of warmth on these chilly evenings we've been having already. She loves it! It's pictured on my husband's giant recliner but she has 2 light green recliners in her place so it matches very well. I used the pieces along the sides of the backing because the backing was a coordinating floral stripe and I've never been able to get a stripe to be perfectly straight on the back. I thought by adding the squares to the edge, the crooked stripe might not show as bad. I'm please with the whole "happy" quilt.

You are right, it is a happy quilt. You are also a good friend, what a nice surprise for her. I like your solution for the back.
