Zorb in mug rugs

Zorb in mug rugs
I've been making some mug rugs and it dawned on me that I have some Zorb left from making baby diapers. Has anyone tried this is quilting projects? I'm thinking that it would absorb the sweat that drips off a glass or would absorb a spill. It is thicker than batting. What do you think?

I made diapers for my DD for her firstborn. After the first few weeks, she said she must have been out of her mind and went to Pampers. I have a lot of diaper supplies in a tote so thanks for the reminder to get it out and use it.

Yes it does work, I've tried it and I like it fir such things as table toppers/coasters etc. Have also used it in bags. Zorb is great stuff and of course it protects furniture from hot cup rings.

Got busy this afternoon and made 3 mug rugs & used Zorb. They lay nice & flat which was my biggest concern.Thanks for the all the input. I have lots of zorb left so I think I'll try some mug cozies/glass wraps and maybe a table runner like some of you have suggested.

be sure and post how you do the glass wraps. I've been using my little sweater sox for so long they've unraveled to about 2/3 size! Does anyone remember them? They came in a set of six. Mine have some kind of golf logo on them
I haven't thought about anything quilt because it is the little stretch that makes them work so well. And I don't want old sock tops on my cold drinks
