MSQC Disappearing Pinwheel 5
Jenny posted a new quilt using layer cake squares which are 10 inches. I did my block with 10-1/2 inch squares because I wanted the finished size to measure 12-1/2. This made my total block 12-1/2 X 13-1/2 when finished. Jenny left hers in rectangles but I trimmed to 12-1/2 square and it looks interesting but I don't know if I want to do a whole quilt. For now it's in the orphan block box nestled next to my Disappearing Hourglass trial block in the same fabrics. Maybe they will become a table runner?

I sewed several blocks to try it out. My neighbor saw them on my design wall and said "those sure must have taken a lot of time to make. All those little pieces to sew to make a design." She doesn't sew at all, she scrapbooks.

I really like your block. Love the fabric! Today, I finished making the 42 blocks for the Jenny Doan Disappearing Pinwheel # 5; but haven't started sewing them together. I left my blocks the rectangle size. The blocks were fun to make; but I am not excited about matching the seams sewing them together.

Some people complain about the bias edges but they make matching the seams a breeze. Pin at the intersecting colours and you can ease in any difference with the bias. I can't wait to see it!
