I think any hobby that occupies your mind and keeps you planning and thinking is beneficial. Working with our hands helps stimulate our brain and keep it active. It helps to pass the long winter hours and to brighten the dark days. It helps the ill, the grieving, the sad, and gives joy to the recipients of these gifts. Never underestimate the power of a good hobby shared with others.

I have sent this on to my quilt leader. We all love the process and now, science says............................. quilt. And we always follow the direction of science. Right?

Any hobby I guess that works the brain is good for you. My Mom is 87 and does hand embroidery and crosswords. She is still sharp as a tack.

Thank you so much for posting this article. I will be sure to share it with my guild. I always say doing household chores is my exercise. Now I can add quilting to my workout!
