    Does anyone have one?
    are they good? Worth it?
i would like to buy one but I think they are discontinued...there are a couple on eBay...
there are a couple on Amazon.ca listed for $4500-$6000...not sure what is making them so valuable

if anyone knows a site that sells one at a reasonable price kindly let me know..

e-bay has some for $300-$400 too. I would wait to get input from someone who actually has one. Maybe they are so expensive because they are not being made anymore.

They make 2 different ones. one cuts the fabric and one irons strips into single or double fold bias tape. I could never get the cutter to work and gave it away. The one that irons the strips works pretty well, but I have to join the strips after they are formed as I can't get the joining seams to feed thru. I use it if I have a lot of tape to make. I don't use it for quilt binding

I had an item used on the ironing board that never really worked right. I haven't been especially impressed with anything Simplicity has made.

I've never tried this tool. I use this method for making bias binding: http://www.mccallsquilting.com/mccal...ontinuous_bias

I also have chart that tells what size square I need based on the width of the binding I want (I usally use 2") and the length of binding I need. I always make extra and then piece the bindings together for scrappy quilts.

I have the Simplicity bias maker, I bought the different sized tape heads, use it for making bias binding, don't gave any problems feeding joins through and use it for all my quilts, a handy gadget for me , it's also great for making binding for necklines for garments.

I have one, JoAnn's has them listed on clearance at their website.

Apparently they are discontinued and won't be made any more.

I have a bunch of the tips (brand new, never used, but out of package) if any one is interested. I would be glad to sell them. I can post pics and work up a very reasonable price if any interest in them.

I have the Simplicity bias tape machine. It works fine. I found that by pressing open the seams where the strips join the fabric goes through the tape head smoothly. I cut my non bias binding the length of the fabric so I won't have many joins. It presses the strip perfectly. Be sure to use the right size strip for each tape head. I have used it so much I load the fabric strips, turn it on and walk away. I found all the size tape heads at Tuesday Morning store on clearance last year. The only one I use is the 2 1/2 head though.

    Morning quilters,
I have both the strip cutter and the bias tape maker, use them both regularly, have discovered that like most things quilting the more you do the work the better you get at them. I love both machines! By the way have anyone checked the price on bias tape lately lately, I did last week was surprised , so much cheaper to make my own and can have pretty prints not available in stores.
