Default Facebook

Family and friends kept telling me to get a facebook account. Last week, I finally decided to do it but I cannot access Facebook. I have tried a number of times over the past few days. All I get is a bunch of gobbledygook characters. Anyone else having trouble?

Make sure that you secure your page via account settings. It keeps strangers from accessing your posts, etc. I am on my page numerous times per day. No issues for me.

When you set up Facebook you have to go to your email and reply to an email to finalize setting up your account. I had to give my son my Facebook password so he could set up my privacy settings. He then called me and walked me through changing my password. Maybe you have someone who can help you? Good luck!
I have been on Facebook quite a bit the last two days and have had no problems.

Have you already set up your account or are you trying to access an account which has already been established? Many times one must retype a mixture of letters and/or numbers as you see them in order to proceed on a website. If this is what you are finding simply type in the mixture as you see it and it will let you proceed. If you have never established an account this may help. I set up my own account but do not remember just what it entailed. If you are still having problems why not ask one of your children or a friend to help you establish the account. Many of our young people do well with computers and may be able to give you a hand as well. I use my account to keep in touch with my children. There is much on Facebook that you will enjoy and some worthless things as well. When setting up a list of friends be very selective in the beginning. Become friends with only those persons whom you really want to communicate with or with whom your wish to share your information. A little help from another person who has an account would do much to help you get started.

I cannot get into Facebook. I am wanting to set up an account. I typed 'Facebook' into the address bar. I get a google
page.
https://www.google.ca/search?q=faceb...hrome&ie=UTF-8

When I click on Facebook(first one) I get the gobbledygook. I have tried each of the headings under that(Facebook, Sign Up, M.facebook.com etc) but each one I tried led to a page of gibberish.

Maybe you're getting a foreign language. At the bottom of the page is there a bar where you can select English?

No, it's not a foreign language. It's a bunch of symbols and letters that cover the whole page with no spaces.
