Default Interesting Q & A - National Quilters Circle

I didn't realize that National Quilters Circle and National Sewing Circle are doing live events. Here's a link to the quilting event (already passed so it is the taped version). No fees or membership required to view.

I hope some of you check out these videos. A lot of the issues I see discussed on here all the time.

Yes, thank you Sibram17 for posting this link. I found it very interesting and helpful. I am one that is guilty of buying the beautiful prints and then have nothing to use it with. Definitely need to buy more "useful" fabric.

I zoned in on the same discussion, on we buy beautiful prints for a stash but then end up having to buy the blenders or solids anyway.

I think the fabric companies change the color waves frequently. If you have fabric from several years ago, it is hard to find new fabric that goes nicely with it, especially newer prints. Solids come in more tones so you can use them but it would be nice to have prints and look solids to go with older prints. I guess that is why scrap quilts are so popular. Smaller pieces of any fabric are easier to use. Another reason to purchase a quilt kit if you love the main fabric and the pattern. Then you at least have fabrics that go together to make the quilt when you get around to it.

I just hope some get to check it out. I checked another month's edition, and I am kind of impressed with the speaker. She is very laid back but discusses so many quilt issues. Like best batting for comfortable warmth, free motion tips when asked about beginner tips, etc., crossing lines when quilting. I just really am enjoying these videos and hope others give it a peek. May learn something or just confirm what they already know.
