Default A quilt for mom

My mother celebrated her 99th birthday last June. I put the call out to the family requesting everyone send me hand prints. The half that responded each got their own block. Those that didn't were placed in a family block with a stock hand print background. Had they all responded, it would have been a reversible quilt but as it is, I was able to fit everything on the front. The prints were done on copy paper, then scanned or photographed and emailed to me. I designed the quilt in my EQ, printed the blocks on PFD cotton, and pieced and quilted it on my domestic machine.

Sadly, we lost mom last last month and the quilt has been returned to me but will forever have a place of honor in my home.

I would never have guessed she was 99 in that picture, she looked so "young". Sorry for your loss. The quilt is lovely, a very neat idea and I am sure she treasured it.

so sorry for your loss. A very precious quilt. It will make a fine display at family reunions/get togethers for many years.

How very sweet and thoughtful. At least she did get to see it and enjoy it for a short time. I know it made her heart fill with joy. Well done daughter.
