    Default Block Question

Found this cute pin cushion at a thrift store. I want to make some for a gift. Does anyone know what block pattern this is?

Cathedral windows - the block is easier to make than it looks.

Makes me sad that somebody spent the time making such a sweet pincushion and it ends up in a thrift store. Happy you rescued it.

Does this work well as a pin cushion? I would think that the many layers of fabric make it harder to stick pins in it.

Thanks Sunny580 for the tutorial link! The Cathedral Window looks like it is very easy to make indeed! This pin cushion works well because the fabric used was thin and It's weighted inside with ground walnut shells or sand which makes it sit nicely on my sewing table. Thanks everyone!

Take a look at Suzanne McNeill's 10 minute blocks. When her books first came out, there was quite a bit online showing how the blocks were made.
