Default Homemade pantograph stylus

My wonderful husband bought me a new Janome 1600P in February....a combination Valentines Day, Birthday and Wedding Anniversary gift. I put it on my Grace Sr2 quilting frame and fell in love with the stitching. But then I wanted a stylus to do small designs with and thought they were expensive so I asked if he could make one? Silly question to ask a retired mechanical engineer! Together we came up with this...and it really works! I bought the knitting needle and he supplied the metal and black hose that holds the needle upright. Cost a lot less than the $45 plus shipping the website wanted for a pantograph stylus.

I was looking at the Grace laser to add to my frame so I could do pantographs! This may work for me as well, Thanks for sharing!

Whoa! I've got a mechanical engineer of my own. Must show him this. Thanks.

Awesome! And if you wanted, you could replace the knitting needle with a laser pointer from the dollar store.
