    Default Janome sewing machine needles?

I am interested in buying needles for my Janome in bulk, or at least more than 5 at a time as I go thru them a lot.
Has anyone used non-Janome needles on their Janome machine? They say it's not recommended but I am wondering if it really makes a difference.
Is there a brand of needles that you would recommend if not getting the name brand ones.

I mostly use Schmetz in my Janome 6600 and 7330. The machines came with Organ brand needles

both of these brands work fine - - I don't really have much to compare with though since those are the brands that I always buy

Which Janome machine do you have? Some Janome machines
are more picky than others. I could use almost any needle on
my 6600 but on my 9400 I mostly stick with the purple tip.
You can needles in bulk from allstitch.net.
By the way, Organ makes Janome needles.

My Janome is the Skyline S5..... I found bulk by Schmitz, and I'll check out allstitch.net.

I use Schmetz needles in all my machines - Janome, Bernina, vintage Singers. No problems.

We use Schmetz in all of the machines we service at the shop.

PS: Grotz Becker just purchased Schmetz.

I've used Organ, Janome, and Schmetz and Superior. All have worked fine for piecing, but the Superior topstitch (titanium) has been my favorite for quilting.

I use Superior titanium or Schmetz needles in my 9400 for piecing. If doing fmq or ruler work the machine insists on the purple tip. It knows the difference.

Allstitch has good prices but their shipping can be crazy if you don't meet the minimum to get it free. I buy most of my embroidery supplies from them and buy with a friend so have no troubles there. Janome needles are repackaged Organ needles so you actually are paying a much higher price just for the Janome name on the package. You can find good bulk deals for Organ needles on Amazon and Ebay too.

I have a Janome 6600 and I use Schmetz also and have not had any trouble. Usually buy my needles at JoAnn's with a coupon.
