Default Do you want the good news first or the bad news?

Well I will give you the good news first. I have been reading threads here about everyone clearing out their stashes and as I am the only one who works scrappy in one group I quilt with, they give me their scraps. I made a throw out of them and then went through and sorted out an apple box of fabric I don't like or am tired of seeing and delivered it on Tuesday to a young family that will make very good use of it. As my stash is only about 8 boxes I am feeling quite proud of myself.

Then on Thursday I am sandwiching the throw with my local group and they tell me it is too small and I need to make it bigger. You know where the matching fabric is don't you...

LOL it works that way. No sooner do I send my crumb quilter a box, there is a use for something in there.

Just go back into your stash and find something else that works. Or keep it the size you made it and say neener

it's the size you chose to make it.
whether or not it's a size the others prefer is beside the point.

Make it the size you want. One of the happiest quilters I know seems to make only smalls. Her quilts are usually about 3x4. She tries out patterns and moves on to the next ones. I don't know what she does with that size, maybe she gives them as wall hangings or baby quilts. Do what makes you happy.

Make the next one bigger and give this one to a child.

I can't begin to tell you how often I have done that. Of course there is the other side when you believe you put it in the box that went out, reworked the quilt project to go with another fabric from the stash and Then find the fabric that you 'thought' you put in the box that went out! Time to rewind a bit.

It's a scrap quilt...continue on with other scraps. Also, you make it the size you want. Don't bow to other's pressure. If it is going to a charity and they have "special" guidelines, of course, follow their guidelines. If not, don't sweat it. After all, it's a "Kelsie Original". Just relax and enjoy!

I agree with PatriceJ. I don't understand. It's too small for what?! It's the size you made it... period!

why people have to throw their 2 cents in is beyond me. Just smile and nod and do your own thing,,,,without an explanation to anyone.
